A Beloved Story Arc Nears Its Final Chapter

The enchanting tale of a book-loving girl in a fantasy world is turning another page. According to listings on Kadokawa’s ComicWalker platform, the manga adaptation of Ascendance of a Bookworm Part 2 will end with its 13th volume. This installment will conclude the “Apprentice Shrine Maiden” arc of Miya Kazuki‘s beloved light novel series, which has gained a global following through its anime and manga formats.

With Part 2 nearing its manga conclusion, fans are preparing to bid farewell to Myne’s trials as she balances her growing magical power, social standing, and unrelenting desire to read.

Story Synopsis

After reincarnating into a medieval world where books are rare and literacy is a privilege of the elite, Urano Motosu becomes Myne, a sickly but determined young girl. In Part 2 of the manga, Myne’s journey continues as she becomes an apprentice shrine maiden to gain access to books stored in the temple’s library.

But the temple is far from a peaceful sanctuary. Caught in the middle of political schemes, religious hierarchies, and magical rituals, Myne must navigate a world where her intelligence and ambition make her both admired and feared. As her power grows, so do the stakes.

Main Characters

Myne (Urano Motosu)
A modern-day bookworm reborn in a world where books are nearly nonexistent. Now a shrine maiden apprentice, she cleverly uses her knowledge and resourcefulness to advance printing technology and earn a place in a classist society.

Ferdinand
A high-ranking temple official and powerful magic user. Ferdinand serves as both protector and skeptic of Myne, carefully watching her rise while dealing with threats both inside and outside the temple.
