A new chapter in the Fist of the North Star universe is coming, but with a comedic twist. The manga spinoff Elegy of Ken-Oh’s Army Grunts will receive a short anime adaptation in January 2026, offering fans a fresh look at life under Raoh’s fearsome reign—this time from the perspective of the hapless soldiers in his army.
Story Synopsis
Set in the post-apocalyptic year 199X, the original Fist of the North Star told the brutal story of Kenshiro, the wandering martial artist destined to bring justice to a ruined world.
This spinoff flips the focus to Nobu, an ordinary man who applies for a job as just another grunt in Ken-Oh’s (Raoh’s) army. He quickly discovers the harsh truth: in this army, deaths outnumber recruits, and survival is anything but guaranteed. The series takes a darkly comedic look at the expendable foot soldiers of one of anime’s most iconic villains.
