Romantic comedy fans won’t have to wait long for more twists in There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless…. The series has confirmed a brand-new sequel that will not only continue the story but also hit the big screen in Japan this November.
Why it matters: the anime only finished airing its first season in Summer 2025, and already fans are getting an expanded story through both theaters and TV.
Story Synopsis

Based on Teren Mikami’s light novel series (Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri!), the anime follows Renako Amaori, a former social outcast who tries to reinvent herself when she starts high school. Her quiet plan derails when two of the school’s most admired girls — Mai Ouzuka and Ajisai Sena — unexpectedly confess their feelings to her.
The blend of heartfelt romance, awkward comedy, and sharp self-reflection quickly made the anime a standout among Summer 2025 releases. With the sequel now announced, fans can expect the drama of unspoken feelings and unanswered confessions to intensify.
