The world of Dorohedoro — equal parts grotesque, hilarious, and nightmarish — is back.
The anime’s long-awaited sequel season has officially been confirmed for Spring 2026, alongside a new key visual that captures the series’ signature madness.
Studio MAPPA will return to adapt Q Hayashida’s cult manga, continuing the surreal saga of Caiman and Nikaidō as they navigate the bizarre and violent world of Hole.
Story Synopsis
Dorohedoro is a dark fantasy set in a post-apocalyptic city known as Hole, where magic users experiment on humans for sport. The series follows Caiman, a man cursed with a reptilian head and no memory of his past, and Nikaidō, a restaurant owner and martial artist who aids him in hunting down the sorcerers responsible for his transformation.
As the pair seek answers, they unravel the twisted hierarchy that governs the worlds of both humans and sorcerers — revealing conspiracies, moral decay, and strange beauty hidden in the chaos.
The upcoming sequel season is expected to expand upon the later arcs of the manga, exploring Caiman’s forgotten identity and the broader war between the realms of magic and flesh.

Character / Key Figure Summaries
Caiman
The protagonist — a man cursed with a lizard’s head and amnesia.
Caiman’s constant struggle to uncover who transformed him forms the emotional and violent core of Dorohedoro. His mix of brutality, humor, and innocence makes him one of anime’s most distinctive anti-heroes.
Nikaidō
Caiman’s ally, friend, and owner of the Hungry Bug restaurant.
Behind her cheerful façade hides her own dark connection to magic, which the sequel promises to explore further. Nikaidō’s loyalty to Caiman adds rare warmth to the series’ gritty tone.
En Family & Sorcerers
The twisted and eccentric En family — including Shin, Noi, and En himself — return in the sequel as power struggles erupt across the sorcerer world. Expect more chaos, humor, and blood-soaked magic.
