Mercedes and the Waning Moon: The Dungeoneering Feats of a Discarded Vampire Aristocrat, written by Firehead and illustrated by KeG, is set to receive an anime adaptation, confirmed by TO Books on August 7, 2025.
About the Series
Originally published as a web novel from October 2018 to November 2022 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, the series was later officially published as a light novel by TO Books starting May 10, 2021. As of now, there are three volumes available.
A manga adaptation by Pochi Edoya began serialization via TO Books’ Comic Corona in August 2021 and has been collected into four volumes as of September 2024.
Synopsis
The story follows Mercedes Grunewald, a reincarnated vampire born to a noble father and his sidelined concubine. Despite her noble lineage, she’s excluded from succession, leaving her future uncertain. Determined to carve her own path, Mercedes begins dungeon crawling as a young child to protect her family and shape her own destiny.
By August 2025, the series had achieved over 150,000 copies in circulation, indicating its growing popularity.
