The gritty dark-fantasy anime Gachiakuta continues to evolve this summer, now featuring acclaimed voice actress Kana Hanazawa as a new character—Amo. As the Bones-produced adaptation builds momentum in its unfolding storyline, this casting update adds fresh intrigue to its dystopian world.

Story Synopsis

Based on Kei Urana’s manga, Gachiakuta dives into a dystopian realm where a floating metropolis discards both refuse and people into a hellish chasm known as The Pit.

The story follows Rudo, a young tribesman wrongfully accused of murder and cast into this wasteland. There, he encounters Enjin, awakens as a “Giver” with the ability to empower discarded objects, and joins the enigmatic Cleaners to harness his powers and seek vengeance.

The anime premiered on July 6, 2025, produced by Studio Bones, with direction by Fumihiko Suganuma, script by Hiroshi Seko, character designs by Satoshi Ishino, and music by Taku Iwasaki. It streams internationally on Crunchyroll.
