The expansion marks a significant step toward making the entire Gintama anime series more accessible to Western audiences, years after its chaotic humor first hit Japanese airwaves.

The Gintama anime, based on Hideaki Sorachi’s long-running manga, is one of the most beloved and unpredictable comedy-action series in anime history.
Set in an alternate Edo period overrun by alien invaders called Amanto, the story follows Gintoki Sakata, a freelancing samurai whose laziness and love for sweets contrast sharply with his hidden swordsmanship. Alongside his oddball team — Shinpachi and Kagura — Gintoki takes on absurd jobs, alien overlords, and relentless parodies of other anime franchises.
The addition of Seasons 2 and 3 to Hulu now allows viewers to experience more of the show’s outrageous arcs — including some of its funniest parodies and most emotional storylines — all newly dubbed in English for the first time.
The update follows Hulu’s ongoing effort to expand its anime catalog, making Gintama one of its most complete long-form series to date.
Episodes 1–150 are now available with English dubbing, and fans can expect additional seasons to join the lineup in the near future.
With Hulu’s expanded lineup, Gintama finally receives the comprehensive international exposure it deserves — allowing a new wave of fans to discover its razor-sharp satire and heartfelt storytelling in a fresh voice.
Why it matters: the anime only finished airing its first season in Summer 2025, and already fans are getting an expanded story through both theaters and TV.

Based on Teren Mikami’s light novel series (Watashi ga Koibito ni Nareru Wake Naijan, Muri Muri!), the anime follows Renako Amaori, a former social outcast who tries to reinvent herself when she starts high school. Her quiet plan derails when two of the school’s most admired girls — Mai Ouzuka and Ajisai Sena — unexpectedly confess their feelings to her.
The blend of heartfelt romance, awkward comedy, and sharp self-reflection quickly made the anime a standout among Summer 2025 releases. With the sequel now announced, fans can expect the drama of unspoken feelings and unanswered confessions to intensify.
A relatable protagonist who transforms from a withdrawn middle schooler into a high schooler trying desperately to craft a new self. Her journey is complicated when romance suddenly enters the picture — twice.
A top-performing student admired for her talents and charisma. Her bold confession to Renako puts her at the center of the story’s tension.
Another of the school’s admired girls, also confesses to Renako. Ajisai’s role deepens the love triangle and challenges Renako’s idea of what she really wants.
Studio Mother delivers the adaptation, with director Natsumi Uchinuma and veteran screenwriter Naruhisa Arakawa ensuring the tone stays true to the novels. Kojikoji’s designs and Yoshiaki Fujisawa’s score bring both warmth and dramatic flair.
With a limited theatrical run set for November and additional episodes on the horizon, There’s No Freaking Way I’ll Be Your Lover! Unless… is quickly establishing itself as one of 2025’s breakout rom-com anime.
A new magical girl fantasy is taking flight! The hit light novel series The 100th Time’s the Charm: She’s Secretly a Super Magical Girl is getting an anime adaptation, as announced by Kadokawa on Saturday. Fans of high-stakes reincarnation tales and magical girl transformations won’t want to miss what’s shaping up to be one of 2025’s most exciting releases.
The announcement included a commemorative illustration from series artist Yukari Tōdō, celebrating the adaptation of the popular novels written by Yuji Yuji (Oreshura). With an anime version now confirmed, a whole new audience will soon meet the most determined magical girl in fantasy fiction.

Imagine dying 99 times—and coming back every time, determined to change your fate. That’s the reality for Riselia, a girl who’s lived through countless tragic loops. But in her 100th life, she decides to break free from destiny’s cruel grip. Secretly armed with powerful magical abilities and a deeper understanding of her world’s rules, she disguises herself as an ordinary girl while plotting to defeat the demon king who has haunted her for lifetimes.
Combining the emotional depth of reincarnation dramas with the flair of magical girl tropes, The 100th Time’s the Charm blends heart-pounding action with an undercurrent of personal redemption. As Riselia unlocks her full potential and allies with familiar faces from past lives, the stage is set for one final battle—and maybe, a happy ending.
Riselia
A girl who has been reincarnated 99 times, Riselia finally awakens to her magical powers in her 100th life. Cautious but resolved, she balances her secret identity with a desire to form new bonds and finally defeat the dark forces controlling her fate.
Zaniel
A stoic knight who unknowingly plays a crucial role in Riselia’s fate across every life. Though unaware of their past connections, he becomes her protector once more, drawn by a sense of déjà vu and loyalty he can’t explain.
While no premiere date has been revealed yet, the series has all the elements of a breakout hit—romance, magic, and a determined heroine with 99 lives’ worth of experience. Stay tuned for trailers and casting announcements later this year!
]]>Originally serialized in the late 1960s and revived through multiple manga and anime versions, The Laughing Salesman (Warau Salesman) follows Moguro Fukuzou, a mysterious salesman who offers to fulfill people’s deepest desires. However, each “deal” comes with an unspoken catch: if the client betrays the terms or acts in bad faith, Moguro ensures they pay the ultimate price.
The live-action version is expected to retain the manga’s ominous tone and morality-driven storytelling, using episodic formats where new characters fall victim to Moguro’s deals, often with darkly ironic consequences.

The ever-smiling, ominous salesman in a black suit and hat. He preys on human flaws, offering solutions that seem too good to be true. Although he never forces clients to act, he watches closely as they often fall victim to their own greed or deceit. He ends each story with his signature unsettling laugh.
Each episode introduces a new character — often average individuals consumed by desire, envy, or loneliness. Whether it’s wealth, revenge, or fame they seek, Moguro always offers an easy way out… at a price.
As The Laughing Salesman steps into the world of live-action drama, fans are eager to see how Moguro’s twisted justice will unfold. Tune in starting July 18 for an unsettling ride through human temptation and downfall.
