The remake of the cult 1970s horror series by J-ta Yamada promises dark magic, supernatural battles, and a chilling journey into Hell, reimagined for modern audiences.

Eko Eko Azarak Reborn is a chilling remake of Shinichi Koga’s original Eko Eko Azarak manga, which ran from 1975 to 1979. The updated series, created by J-ta Yamada, revives the story of Misa Kuroi, a powerful witch drawn into a terrifying world of demons and dark sorcery.
Awakened by humanity’s darkest desires, Misa is summoned by a mysterious stranger and must face the horrors of Hell itself—including confronting her own dark past and battling Lucifer. As she fights to survive, Misa must unlock the full potential of her forbidden magic.
J-ta Yamada originally launched Eko Eko Azarak Reborn in Champion RED magazine in March 2020. The series concluded in March 2023, with Akita Shoten releasing the fifth and final volume in May 2023. Now, Titan Manga will introduce the English edition to a new audience starting in spring 2026.
The original Eko Eko Azarak manga by the late Shinichi Koga was a groundbreaking entry in Japanese horror. Serialized in Weekly Shōnen Champion from 1975 to 1979, the manga spanned 19 volumes and inspired numerous adaptations: six live-action films (1995–2006), a 1997 TV series, a 2007 OVA, and two video games.
With Eko Eko Azarak Reborn, J-ta Yamada honors Koga’s legacy while adding new visual flair and deeper psychological horror, making it an exciting release for horror enthusiasts and manga collectors alike.
